May & Watts Garden Design
May & Watts Garden Design was formed in 1996, by Diana May and Mark Watts. Diana and Mark met at Hadlow College where they both achieved Distinctions in National Diploma Horticulture (Landscape & Amenity Studies).
In 2000, they celebrated the millennium by staging a show garden at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show, for which they achieved a Silver Gilt. In 2002, they were employed by Loire Valley Wines to create a show garden at Hampton Court, for which they were awarded a Silver, two more gardens followed in 2003, (Silver) and 2004 (Silver-Gilt). As part of the marketing strategy, a national competition was run; the prize; a garden designed by May & Watts Garden Design. In 2006, MWGD was asked to submit a plan for The Teaching Garden adjacent to the new glasshouse at the RHS Wisley Gardens.
Mark’s special interest is designing structures and sculptures, he has recently designed a pavilion, pergola, open roof timber arbor, an oak bridge, and an oak bench, he also enjoys taking garden photos. All the structures/sculptures on the website have been designed by Mark. Diana enjoys devising planting schemes, and is currently very interested in ornamental trees. Diana is also working on contemporary shrub borders that are both low maintenance yet stylish.
Diana and Mark always strive to give the client the garden that they want, and great attention is paid to the creative brief, in the initial meetings. We provide a fixed quotation for the design plans, and offer a project management service, or a pre-agreed weekly visit for a fixed number of hours. This is billed at a pre-arranged rate.
We hope you enjoy viewing some of the commissions we have created, reading our blog and viewing our photography. For further information, please feel free to contact us.
